Honda is all set to launch the new generation WR-V in India by August 2023. The new WR-V is a completely redesigned SUV that is based on the Amaze’s platform and looks more like a coupe-SUV than a cross-hatchback. 2023 Honda WR-V Launch Date and Price
The new generation Honda WR-V is expected to be priced from Rs 8 lakh onwards. It will go on sale in Indonesia first, where it was unveiled in November 2022, and then make its way to India by mid-2023.
2023 Honda WR-V Engine and Mileage
The new generation Honda WR-V will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that comes from the Honda City. The engine produces 121hp and 145Nm of torque and is paired with a CVT (automatic transmission) as standard. There is no word on the diesel engine option yet. The mileage of the new WR-V is not revealed, but it is likely to be similar to the City, which delivers around 18 kmpl.
Dimensions, Boot Space and Ground Clearance
The new generation Honda WR-V is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor. It measures 4,060mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,608mm in height. It also has a wheelbase of 2,550mm and a ground clearance of 220mm. The boot space of the new WR-V is 380 litres, which is decent for its segment.

Interior and Safety Features
The interior of the new WR-V looks almost identical to the Honda Amaze. It features a dual-tone dashboard with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets automatic climate control, push-button start-stop, steering-mounted controls and a multi-information display. The new WR-V also comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESP) and Honda’s ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology. The ADAS includes features like lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam and automatic emergency braking.
The new generation Honda WR-V is a promising SUV that offers a stylish design, spacious cabin, powerful engine and advanced safety features. It will compete with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite in the sub-4m SUV segment.
