Engine and Transmission

The Honda Elevate comes with Petrol engine options: a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that produces 121 bhp and 145Nm of torque, These engine paired with six-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.

The MG Astor comes with two engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 110bhp and 144Nm of torque, and a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 140bhp and 220Nm of torque. The former is paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed CVT automatic transmission, while the latter is paired with only a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Both the SUVs offer similar power and torque figures from their engines. However, the MG Astor has an advantage of having an eight-speed CVT over the Honda Elevate’s six-speed CVT.

The Honda Elevate comes loaded with features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, a seven-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, three dashboard themes, three steering modes, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera, and Honda Connect with 80+ connected car features.

The MG Astor also comes packed with features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, a seven-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, six speakers, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera, and MG i-Smart with 80+ connected car features.

Both the SUVs offer similar features in terms of comfort, convenience, and connectivity. However, the MG Astor has an edge over the Honda Elevate in terms of technology, as it offers an AI assistant, ADAS, and Autonomous Level 2 features.

The AI assistant is a personal robot that can interact with the driver and passengers, and perform tasks such as playing music, making calls, checking weather, and telling jokes.
