Honda Ups Safety and Features for City, Elevate, Amaze and City Hybrid

Honda India is making big strides in safety! They’ve just announced a range of updates for their popular cars, including the City, Elevate, Amaze, and City Hybrid. Here’s the breakdown:

Safety First:

  • City and Elevate: These two cars are now getting a safety boost with six airbags, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and seatbelt reminders included as standard across all trims. This is a welcome change, making these vehicles even more secure for drivers and passengers alike.
  • Amaze and City Hybrid: Both the Amaze and City Hybrid haven’t been left out. They’ll now come with seatbelt reminders for all five seats, further enhancing passenger safety.

New Features for Everyone:

  • Elevate: This compact SUV gets some exciting new features as standard. Passengers in all five seats can now enjoy adjustable headrests for added comfort. Drivers and co-drivers will appreciate the addition of vanity mirrors, while the new instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT display adds a touch of modernity.
  • City: The base SV variant of the City gets a new 4.2-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster, making it more informative. For those who love their music, the VX trim now boasts an 8-speaker premium sound system, and a rear sunshade for added comfort on sunny days.

Price Adjustments:

Upgrading safety and features comes at a slight cost. Here’s the new price range for the City and Elevate:

  • Elevate: The starting price has gone up from Rs 11.69 lakh to Rs 11.91 lakh, while the top-end variant now costs Rs 16.43 lakh (previously Rs 16.31 lakh).
  • City: The base price has increased from Rs 11.82 lakh to Rs 12.08 lakh. The top-end variant now costs Rs 16.35 lakh, which is Rs 5,000 more than before.

Amaze and City Hybrid Updates:

While the Amaze and City Hybrid don’t get any new features besides the standard seatbelt reminders, there are some changes to their lineups:

  • Amaze: The entry-level E variant of the Amaze has been discontinued. The sub-4-meter sedan will now be available in a price range of Rs 7.93 lakh to Rs 9.86 lakh.
  • City Hybrid: This eco-friendly car will now only be available in a single, fully-loaded ZX variant priced at Rs 20.55 lakh.

No Engine Changes:

There are no mechanical changes to any of the four cars. The City and Elevate retain their 1.5-liter petrol engine, while the City Hybrid continues with its 1.5-liter strong hybrid petrol engine. The Amaze keeps its 1.2-liter petrol engine.
