The new XUV500 will be powered by two engine options – a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel. Both engines will be shared with the larger XUV700, but will be tuned differently for the smaller SUV. The petrol engine will produce around 190 hp and 380 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful engine in its class. The diesel engine will churn out 185 hp and 380 Nm of torque, which is also impressive. Both engines will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Mahindra may also introduce a mild-hybrid system for the XUV500 at a later stage, to comply with the upcoming emission norms.

Expected Mileage of Upcoming XUV500

The mileage of the new XUV500 will depend on various factors such as driving style, road conditions, traffic and fuel quality. However, based on the ARAI-certified figures of the XUV700, we can estimate that the new XUV500 will deliver around 15 kmpl for the petrol variants and around 18 kmpl for the diesel variants. These figures are likely to vary slightly depending on the transmission and drivetrain options.

Expected Performance

The new XUV500 will offer a strong performance on both city and highway roads, thanks to its powerful engines and refined transmissions. The petrol engine will offer a smooth and linear acceleration, while the diesel engine will offer a punchy and responsive drive. The new XUV500 will also come with multiple driving modes, such as Eco, Comfort and Sport, to suit different driving preferences and situations. The new XUV500 will also feature an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), which will include features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, autonomous emergency braking and more. Expected Top Speed

The top speed of the new XUV500 will be limited by an electronic speed limiter, which is common in most modern cars. The exact top speed figure is not known yet, but we can expect it to be around 185 kmph, which is similar to the current XUV500. The new XUV500 will be able to achieve this speed with ease, thanks to its aerodynamic design and powerful engines.
