The Exter features a split headlamp design with square LED units and H-shaped LED DRLs. The front bumper is also large and squarish, giving the Exter a rugged look. The Exter also has a clamshell bonnet, faux skid plates, roof rails, all-around black claddings and 15-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the Exter has H-shaped LED taillamps, a roof spoiler and a dual-tone bumper. The Exter will be available in six colour options: Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Aqua Teal and Alpha Blue.

The interior of the Exter is based on the Grand i10 Nios and Aura, but with some changes to suit the SUV character. The dashboard and steering wheel are similar to the Nios and Aura, but the Exter gets an all-black colour scheme with bronze accents around the AC vents and on the semi-leatherette seat upholstery. The Exter also gets a full-digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch MID, similar to the i20 and Verna. The infotainment system is an 8-inch touchscreen unit with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-built navigation and connected car features. The Exter also gets automatic climate control, cruise control, sunroof, rear AC vents and three-point seat belts for all passengers.

Powertrain Options

The Hyundai Exter will be powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 83hp and 113.8Nm of torque. This engine is compliant with the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms and E20 fuel. The engine will be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Hyundai will also offer a factory-fitted CNG option for the Exter, which will only come with a manual transmission.
