Two of the most popular models in this segment are the Kia Seltos and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, both of which are due for a facelift soon. The Kia Seltos facelift was globally unveiled in June 2022 at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, and is expected to be launched in India by mid-2023. The Seltos facelift gets a new face with redesigned grille, headlights, daytime running lights, bumper, and bonnet. The LED daytime running lamps still run into the grille, but are now position slightly lower than before. In profile, not much has changed apart from a new design for the alloy wheels. However, the Seltos’ rear receives the most updates. The Seltos facelift now gets refreshed tail-lamps that are joined together by an LED light bar, which also houses the Kia badge – the tail-lamps were connected by a chrome strip earlier. The tailgate has also been redesigned with a bigger indentation for the number plate.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza was launched in India in 2016 and received a minor facelift in 2020. The Brezza has a modern and stylish design, with a bold front grille and sharp headlamps. It has fog lights, contrast-coloured skid plate, roof rails, blacked-out A, B, and C-pillars, wraparound LED tail lights, Brezza lettering on the boot lid, an integrated spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, and a shark-fin antenna.

The upcoming Kia Seltos facelift is expected to come with some new and advanced features that will enhance its appeal and convenience. Some of these features include:

Engine

The upcoming Kia Seltos facelift will come with a new 160hp, 253Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that will replace the existing 140hp, 242Nm 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. The current turbo-petrol engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed manual, but it remains to be seen which gearbox options will be available on this new engine. The Seltos is also expected to come with the existing 115hp, 144Nm 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 115hp, 250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine. Both engines get a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed iMT gearbox, while the petrol and diesel also get a CVT gearbox and 6-speed automatic gearbox option, respectively.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is powere by a 1.5-litre K12C petrol engine producing 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. This engine is pair with six-speed manual and automatic units. The Brezza also offers an option of CNG fuel type for better fuel efficiency.

Seltos Facelift Vs Brezza Price

The Kia Seltos facelift is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model, which ranges from Rs. 10.29 lakh to Rs. 18.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Seltos facelift will compete with the likes of the Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara and Hyundai Creta.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is price between Rs. 8.29 lakh and Rs. 14.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Brezza rivals the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Tata Nexon, and the Mahindra XUV300.
