Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its new MPV, the Invicto, in the Indian market on July 5, 2023. The Invicto is a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, which was launched in 2022 as a premium and hybrid variant of the popular Innova Crysta. The Invicto is expected to be the first product from the Maruti Suzuki-Toyota partnership, which aims to share platforms, technologies and resources to create more value for customers. Let’s see Maruti Suzuki Invicto Dimensions and how big is this MPV?
Maruti Suzuki Invicto Dimensions
How does the Invicto compare with the Innova Hycross and other competitors in the segment? Let’s find out:
The Invicto shares the same dimensions as the Innova Hycross, which means it is a large and spacious MPV that can seat up to seven passengers comfortably. Here is a table that shows the dimensions of the Invicto and its rivals:
|Dimensions||Maruti Suzuki Invicto||Toyota Innova Hycross||Kia Carnival|
As you can see, the Invicto and the Innova Hycross are identical in size, while the Kia Carnival is longer, wider and has a longer wheelbase. The Carnival also offers more seating options, ranging from seven to nine seats.
The Invicto is expected to offer a host of features that will make it a premium and luxurious MPV. Some of the key features that are likely to be offered in the Invicto are:
- A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
- An 8-way power-adjustable driver seat with memory function
- Powered Ottoman captain seats in the middle row with recline and slide functions
- A panoramic sunroof
- A JBL sound system with nine speakers and a subwoofer
- A control panel at the central console with buttons for climate control, seat ventilation and sunroof
- A powered tailgate with hands-free function
- LED headlights and tail lights
- Alloy wheels
The Invicto will also come with a comprehensive safety suite that will include:
- Up to six airbags
- ABS with EBD and brake assist
- Electronic stability control and traction control
- Hill start assist and hill descent control
- Autonomous emergency braking
- Adaptive cruise control
- Lane keep assist
- Blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert
- Reverse parking camera and sensors
- Electronic parking brake with auto-hold function
The Innova Hycross offers most of these features as well, except for the panoramic sunroof, the JBL sound system and some of the advanced driver assistance systems. The Kia Carnival, on the other hand, offers some additional features such as dual sunroofs, dual-screen rear entertainment system, smart air purifier, wireless phone charger and smart power sliding doors.
The Invicto will be powered by two petrol engine options: a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine that produces 173 hp of power and is mated to a CVT gearbox; and a 2.0-litre hybrid engine that produces 183 hp of power and is paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The hybrid engine will also feature a strong-hybrid technology that will enable electric-only driving mode, regenerative braking and enhanced fuel efficiency.
The Innova Hycross offers only one engine option: the same 2.0-litre hybrid engine that powers the Invicto. The Kia Carnival, however, offers a diesel engine option: a 2.2-litre turbocharged engine that churns out 200 hp of power and is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Invicto is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 19 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom), which will make it slightly cheaper than the Innova Hycross, which costs between Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 27 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kia Carnival is the most expensive of the lot, with a price range of Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 34 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is a promising MPV that will offer a premium and comfortable ride experience to its customers. It will also benefit from the strong brand value and wide service network of Maruti Suzuki in India. The Invicto will face a tough competition from the Toyota Innova Hycross, which is already a well-established and trusted name in the segment. The Kia Carnival will also pose a challenge to the Invicto, as it offers more space, features and seating options. However, the Invicto will have an edge over its rivals in terms of hybrid technology, fuel efficiency and pricing.
If you are looking for a spacious, feature-rich and eco-friendly MPV, then you should definitely check out the Maruti Suzuki Invicto when it launches on July 5, 2023.
