Tata Motors has unveiled the facelifted version of its popular electric SUV, the Tata Nexon EV, in India. This SUV is part of Tata’s premium and stylish offerings, based on the urban freestyler concept. It boasts modern design, a spacious cabin, advanced features, and a powerful engine. The introductory price for the Tata Nexon EV Facelift starts at Rs 13.99 lakhs and goes up to Rs 16 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), depending on the variant. Deliveries of the Tata Nexon EV have already begun nationwide. The global debut of the Tata Nexon EV Facelift took place in June 2023.

Moving on to charge times, both the new Tata Nexon EV and the old Tata Nexon EV support fast charging. With fast charging, you can charge the MR battery pack from 0-80% in just 60 minutes and the LR battery pack in 90 minutes. Using a standard AC charger, the MR battery pack can be fully charged in 8 hours, while the LR battery pack takes 12 hours. Comparatively, the old Tata Nexon EV took 60 minutes to charge from 0-80% with fast charging and 8.5 hours for a full charge using a standard AC charger.

Interior Features of Tata Nexon EV Facelift

The new Tata Nexon EV boasts several interior improvements over the old model. It features a new steering wheel inspired by the Avinya EV, which is illuminated with the Tata logo. The gear lever is also redesigned, resembling those found in luxury cars. The infotainment system is upgraded, offering a 10.25-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, it comes equipped with Tata’s latest iRA connected car technology, providing remote commands, geo-fencing, live location tracking, vehicle health reports, and emergency assistance features.

The new Tata Nexon EV also includes a fully digital driver’s display, measuring 10.25 inches and featuring a navigation view. In contrast, the old Tata Nexon EV had a smaller 7-inch touchscreen system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. It featured Tata’s older connected car technology with limited features and a semi-digital driver’s display that did not display navigation.

The new Tata Nexon EV offers a refreshed interior color scheme, matching the interior colors with the exterior. For instance, if the new Tata Nexon EV is unveiled in Fearless Purple, its interior will also feature black and purple elements. In contrast, the old Tata Nexon EV had a plain black and grey interior.

Furthermore, the new Tata Nexon EV introduces new features not found in the old model, such as a height-adjustable co-driver’s seat, a touch-enabled climate control panel, front parking sensors, a blind-view monitor, and six airbags as standard. The exterior design of the new Tata Nexon EV exudes sportiness and sleekness compared to the old Tata Nexon EV. The front profile of the new model draws inspiration from the Tata Curvv design and features a split headlamp setup. The grille is sleeker with chrome accents and houses LED DRLs and projector lamps that enhance night vision. LED fog lamps with cornering function are also included. The bumper is redesigned with tri-arrow design elements, reflecting Tata’s new design language.

On the side, the new Tata Nexon EV sports dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels with a diamond-cut finish. The ORVMs are dual-tone and come with integrated turn indicators and a blind-view monitor. The sporty roof rails feature a silver finish. The door handles are chrome-finished and come with request sensors for keyless entry. The black side cladding features tri-arrow design elements, adding to the rugged look.

At the rear, the new Tata Nexon EV showcases split LED tail lamps with a signature X-shaped design element, which is the Nexon’s hallmark. The sporty rear spoiler incorporates a high-mounted stop lamp.

Both models offer six airbags as standard across all variants, including driver, co-driver, and side curtain airbags. They also include ABS with EBD, corner stability control, hill hold control, hill descent control, traction control, brake assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and seat belt reminders. Both models come equipped with rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera, but the new Tata Nexon EV also adds front parking sensors. Both cars feature a blind-view monitor integrated into the ORVMs, assisting with visibility in blind spots.

Crash Test Ratings

In terms of crash test ratings, both the new Tata Nexon EV and the old Tata Nexon EV have achieved a 5-star rating from Global NCAP, which is the highest rating possible. Both models scored 16.06 out of 17 in adult occupant protection and 25 out of 49 in child occupant protection.
