TVS Motor Company, one of the leading two-wheeler manufacturers in India, is all set to launch its second electric scooter today in Dubai. The new model is expected to be based on the Creon concept that TVS showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. The company has been teasing the features and performance of the upcoming electric scooter through social media platforms, creating a lot of buzz among the customers and enthusiasts. Here are some of the key details that you need to know about the TVS electric scooter launch:
Name:

The name of the new electric scooter is not officially revealed yet, but some reports suggest that it could be called Xonic. This name is also displayed on the speedometer of the scooter in one of the teasers. However, it is possible that Xonic is just the name of the fastest riding mode available with the scooter, similar to Sport mode in TVS iQube.
Design:
The design of the new electric scooter is likely to be inspired by the Creon concept, which was a futuristic and sporty-looking scooter with sharp lines and curves. The concept had LED lighting all around, a digital instrument cluster, a large under-seat storage space, and a sleek tail section. The production version may retain some of these elements, but with some changes to make it more practical and affordable.
Features:
The new electric scooter will come with a host of smart features and functions, thanks to the SmartXonnect cluster supporting app for smartphones. The app will allow the users to pair their scooter with their phone and access information like ride stats, remote battery charge status, geo-fencing, navigation, incoming call alerts, and more. The scooter will also have a USB charging port, a plug and play charger, and music control buttons. One of the most innovative features of the scooter is the Q-park assist, which will help the riders while parking the vehicle with an easy to control and modulate reverse function.
Performance:
The new electric scooter will be a performance-oriented model that will offer a thrilling ride experience. The company claims that the scooter can reach a top speed of 105 kmph, which is impressive for an electric scooter. The range of the scooter is estimated to be around 105 km on a full charge, based on the teaser that showed 63 km range at 60 percent battery level. The battery capacity and charging time are not known yet, but they are expected to be competitive with other electric scooters in the market.
Price:
The price of the new electric scooter is not announced yet, but it is likely to be higher than the TVS iQube, which starts at Rs 1.23 lakh (on-road price) inclusive of the FAME II and state government subsidy. The new model will offer more features and performance than the iQube, so it may command a premium price tag. However, TVS may also try to keep the price attractive to lure more customers and compete with rivals like Ola Electric and Ather Energy.
The TVS electric scooter launch will take place today at 11:30 am IST in Dubai. You can watch the live stream of the event on TVS Motor Company’s official YouTube channel or website. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new product from TVS.
