Tata Blackbird Dimensions
The Tata Blackbird SUV boasts dimensions that position it uniquely within the market. With an approximate length of 4.3 meters, it’s slightly longer than the Nexon yet a touch shorter than the Harrier. Its width and height surpass the Nexon’s, while remaining more compact than the Harrier. Additionally, the wheelbase stretches around 50mm longer than that of the Nexon, enhancing stability and cabin space.
New Tata Blackbird Interior and Comfort
When it comes to the boot space, the Blackbird’s capacity lands somewhere between the Nexon and the Harrier. Although the exact figures have yet to be unveiled, we can anticipate a range of 350-400 liters, ensuring ample room for your luggage and gear. What’s more, the interior is expected to be more premium and spacious than the Nexon, featuring top-notch elements such as a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, sunroof, leather seats, cruise control, wireless charging, and ambient lighting.
Under the Hood: Engine Options and Performance
The Tata Blackbird SUV will offer two engine options: a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine. These engines have proven themselves in the Nexon as well. The petrol engine is projected to deliver around 160 bhp, while the diesel engine will churn out approximately 110 bhp. But that’s not all—the lineup will also include an electric version with even greater range than the Nexon EV.
Efficiency and Mileage
Though the exact mileage figures for the Blackbird are yet to be confirmed, we can make educated guesses based on Tata’s track record. It’s anticipated that the petrol engine will achieve around 15-16 kmpl, while the diesel engine will offer an impressive 20-21 kmpl. If you’re considering the electric version, you can expect a range of approximately 400 km, making it a compelling option for eco-conscious drivers.
Safety First: Features for Peace of Mind
Tata is leaving no stone unturned in the safety department. The Blackbird SUV is expected to come equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rear camera, hill hold assist, traction control, and ESP. Moreover, there’s a possibility of advanced safety technology like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) making its way into the vehicle, enhancing driver confidence and overall safety.
A Glimpse of the Exterior
The Tata Blackbird SUV’s exterior design takes inspiration from the Nexon while incorporating elements reminiscent of the Harrier. The sleek LED headlamps, DRLs, fog lamps, grille, alloy wheels, roof rails, ORVMs, LED tail lamps, and rear spoiler all contribute to its dynamic look. Notably, the roofline adopts a coupe-style tapering, adding an extra touch of style to this already charismatic SUV.
