The Tata Punch is a compact SUV that was launched in India in October 2021. It is based on the ALFA-ARC platform and offers a spacious cabin, a high ground clearance, and a range of features. Here are some details about the upcoming Tata Punch CNG.
The Punch is currently available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 86hp and 113Nm of torque. However, Tata Motors is planning to introduce a CNG variant of the Punch soon, which will make it more economical and eco-friendly.

The interior of the Tata Punch CNG will be similar to the standard Punch, except for an additional CNG button to switch between petrol and CNG modes. The Punch CNG will offer a comfortable, practical and feature-rich cabin, unlike many other CNG cars in the market. Some of the interior features of the Punch CNG are:

The exterior look of the Tata Punch CNG will be identical to the standard Punch, except for an ‘i-CNG’ badge on the boot lid. The Punch CNG will have a sporty and rugged design, with elements such as:
- A dual-tone roof
- LED DRLs and projector headlamps
- LED taillights
- Fog lights – front and rear
- Black cladding on the wheel arches, doors and sills
- Roof rails
- 15-inch alloy wheels

The Tata Punch CNG will be powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine will produce 86hp and 113Nm of torque in petrol mode, while in CNG mode, it will make 77hp and 97Nm of peak torque. The Punch CNG will have two driving modes – Eco and City – to optimize performance and efficiency.
The Tata Punch CNG will have a dual-fuel system, which means it can run on both petrol and CNG. The exact mileage figures of the Punch CNG are not yet reveal, but we expect it to be significantly higher than the petrol variant, which delivers 18.8kmpl (ARAI). The Punch CNG will have two 30-litre CNG cylinders in the boot, which will give it a total CNG capacity of 60 litres.

Punch CNG Launch Date and Price in India
The Tata Punch CNG is expected to launch in India by August 2023. The price of the Punch CNG is estimated to be between Rs. 8.45 lakh and Rs. 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). The Punch CNG will compete with other CNG cars in the segment, such as the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG, Hyundai Santro CNG, and Renault Kiger CNG.
