Tata Tiago EV vs Tata Punch EV: Which one to buy?

Tata Motors is one of the leading automobile manufacturers in India and a pioneer of the electric vehicle (EV) evolution in the country. The company has launched several EV models such as the Nexon EV, the Tigor EV and the Tiago EV. The Tiago EV is the latest addition to the Tata EV family and was launched on 28 September 2022. The Tiago EV and the Punch EV are powered by different battery packs and electric motors. The Tiago EV comes with two battery pack options: 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh, with a claimed range of 250 km and 315 km, respectively. The former makes 60 bhp/110 Nm, while the latter produces 74 bhp/114 Nm. The Tiago EV can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 5.7 seconds and has three drive modes: Eco, City and Sport.

The Punch EV is expected to use the same Ziptron electric motor as the Nexon EV but with slightly different tuning and higher power output figures. The Punch EV could have a range of around 350 km and could also have multiple drive modes and regenerative braking.

The Tiago EV and the Punch EV come with different charging options depending on the variant. The Tiago EV comes with either a 3.3 kW or 7.2 kW home wall box charger. The Tiago EV and the Punch EV are loaded with features that enhance functionality and driving pleasure.
