The company is also planning to launch another electric car soon: the Punch EV, which is based on the upcoming micro SUV Punch.

Exterior Look

The Tata Tigor EV and the Tata Punch EV share the same ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform, which is designed to accommodate different body styles and powertrains. However, they have distinct design elements that set them apart.

The Tigor EV is an electric version of the Tigor sedan, with some cosmetic changes to differentiate it from the regular model. It has a bold EV front grille with EV blue humanity line, projector headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRLs), signature LED taillamps with LED light guide, hyperstyle wheels and a new magnetic red colour with contrast black roof. The Tigor EV also has a 4-star GNCAP safety rating, making it one of the safest cars in its segment.

Tata Punch EV is expected to be an electric version of the Punch micro SUV, which is yet to be launched in India. The Punch EV will likely have the same design as the fuel-powered version, except for the front electric grille. The Punch has a rugged and sporty look, with squared-out wheel arches, sharp creases on the tailgate, round-shaped taillamps and a dual-tone roof. Tata Punch also has some premium features such as LED DRLs, LED fog lamps with cornering function, 16-inch alloy wheels and a 14-speaker Meridian surround sound system.

Battery, Motor and Range

The Tata Tigor EV and the Tata Punch EV both use the Ziptron technology, which consists of a lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor. However, they have different specifications and performance.

The Tigor EV has a 26 kWh battery pack that powers a 75 PS electric motor that delivers 170 Nm of torque. The Tigor EV has an ARAI-rated range of 315 km on a full charge. The Tigor EV can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 8.5 hours using a standard wall charger and in 60 minutes using a 25 kW DC fast charger.

The Punch EV is expected to have a larger battery pack than the Tigor EV, possibly around 30 kWh. The Punch EV will also have a more powerful electric motor than the Tigor EV, possibly around 100 PS. The Punch EV will likely have a higher range than the Tigor EV, possibly around 350 km on a full charge. The Tata Tigor EV is priced from Rs. 12.49 lakh to Rs. 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It is offered in four variants: XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. The Tigor EV comes with a 3-year/1.25 lakh km warranty on the vehicle and an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty on the battery.

The Tata Punch EV is expected to be priced around Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom). It is likely to be offered in three variants: XM, XZ and XZ+. The Punch EV will also come with a similar warranty package as the Tigor EV.
