Finally Hyundai Santro Discontinued in India

Finally Hyundai Motor has decided to shut down its most popular hatchback car Santro once again. This is the second time the company has taken this decision and this time the step has been taken due to falling sales of this car. The prices of country cars are constantly rising and Santro is also moving away from the common family. Now at the price that Centro was getting, customers started getting many good options. And that was the reason why Santro had to decide to close down due to the decline in sales every month.
The biggest reason for the steady decline in sales
In the last six months, the car was selling only 1500-2000 units every month, after which the car company decided to discontinue it. Interestingly, this hatchback was at one time one of Hyundai’s best-selling cars and accounted for about 76 percent of its total sales. Hyundai Santro has priced from Rs 4.89 lakh to Rs 6.41 lakh, the car can still be seen on the company’s website. But it will be removed from the website soon
Engine
The Hyundai Santro is powered by a 1.1-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that generates 69 PS of power and 99 Nm of torque. Apart from this, the car was also landed in a factory-fit CNG kit. On CNG mode this car generates power of 59PS and torque of 99Nm. The car has a 5-speed manual gearbox standard. While its Magna and Sportz variants will also get the option of a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The CNG variant has only a manual gearbox. The company says that this engine is of BS-VI standard. On petrol engine, it will give a mileage of 20.3 km and on CNG this car will give a mileage of 30.5 km per kilogram. The maximum speed of the new car is 150 kilometers per hour.
