Toyota Sales in July 2023
Let’s dive into some fantastic news from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), Toyota’s Indian branch. Toyota recently achieved their highest monthly sales to date, selling a whopping 21,911 units in July 2023. That’s a 10% jump from the same time last year, when they sold 19,693 units. Of the total, 20,759 units found their homes in the domestic market, with 1,152 units shipped abroad.
New Products
This impressive uptick in sales has been propelled by the robust demand for TKM’s full range of products, including popular models like the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Hycross, Fortuner, Legender, New Innova Crysta, Camry, and the ever-versatile Hilux. Plus, the Cool New Glanza, which rolled out in June 2023, has been getting rave reviews from happy customers.
TKM’s Vice President of Sales and Strategic Marketing, Atul Sood, couldn’t be happier with this record-breaking sales performance. He believes this success stems from TKM’s unwavering dedication to satisfying customers and pioneering innovation. “July has been an incredible month for us, and we’re overjoyed to have achieved our highest ever sales figures by moving 21,911 units off our lots,” Sood shared.
Looking ahead, Sood is optimistic that they can keep up this strong sales pace into the upcoming festive season. To prepare for this, the company has ramped up its production capacity by introducing a third shift at their Bidadi plant. “Given our mid-year sales trend and the promising market demand, coupled with our boosted production, we’re poised to make this one of our strongest years in India. We’re eagerly gearing up for a great festive season and ready to meet the surge in demand,” he said.
YOY Growth
Overall, TKM has seen considerable growth in their cumulative sales for the first seven months of 2023, with a total of 1,24,282 units sold—a 31% increase from last year. For the first four months of the 2023 fiscal year, they’ve sold 77,439 units, a 26% jump from the same period in the previous year.
July 2023 was a month of noteworthy achievements for TKM. They delivered their first-ever fleet of Hilux trucks to the Indian Army, thereby solidifying their presence in the utility vehicle segment. They also kicked off their ‘Monsoon Campaign,’ offering customers exclusive perks and maintenance deals to ensure safe, seamless driving during the rainy season while bolstering a hassle-free ownership experience.
