Toyota has recently launched a new MPV in India, named Rumion, which is based on the popular Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. New Rumion is Toyota’s fourth MPV in India, after the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and the Vellfire. The Rumion is aimed at the versatile B-MPV segment, which offers spacious and comfortable seating for seven passengers, along with flexible luggage space and premium features.
Rumion Engine & Mileage
The Rumion is available in three trim levels – S, G and V – and two fuel options – petrol and CNG. The petrol variants are powered by a 1.5-litre K-series engine that produces 103 hp and 138 Nm of torque, while the CNG variants have a slightly lower output of 88 hp and 122 Nm of torque. The petrol engine comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the CNG engine is only offered with a manual gearbox.
The Rumion boasts of exceptional performance and fuel efficiency, thanks to its Neo Drive technology and E-CNG technology. The petrol variants have a claimed mileage of 20.51 kmpl, while the CNG variants deliver 26.11 km/kg. The Rumion also comes with Toyota i-Connect, a connected car technology that offers more than 55 features, such as remote check and control, climate control, lock/unlock, hazard lights, headlight and more.
The exterior design of the Rumion is similar to the Ertiga, except for some minor changes such as a new front grille, bumper, fog lamp housings and dual-tone alloy wheels. The interior is also identical to the Ertiga, with a dual-tone black and beige dashboard, faux wood inserts and beige upholstery. The top-spec Rumion offers tech features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic AC, roof-mounted AC for the second row, steering mounted controls, four airbags, ESP, hill hold and more.
