Upcoming 7 Seater Cars in India 2021-22 From Mahindra to Kia
Upcoming 7 Seater Cars: The car market in India’s auto sector has a wide range from hatchbacks to sedans and from SUVs to MPV-MUVs. This has seen a big change in recent years. This change is due to the growing trend towards buying a bigger 7 seater car instead of a 5 seater car. Cars with more space and seating capacity are in high demand from customers. Recognizing the same demand from Indian consumers, automobile companies are all set to launch their 7-seater cars in the market. Some of the newer luxury 7-seater cars will soon be seen running on the roads of the country. It has cars from Mahindra & Mahindra to Kia Motor. Some of these will be facelift models, some will be new cars. Let’s quickly see which 7-seater cars are ready to be launched in India.
1. Kia KY

Kia Motors entered the Indian market in 2019 with its famous SUV Seltos. Now the company will soon launch its new 7-seater car in the market. The car has been codenamed Kia KY. In India, Kia’s upcoming MPV will compete with the powerful Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL6, Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Innova crysta. The Kia KY 7 Seater MPV is expected to be developed on the company’s Kia Seltos SUV platform, which is currently popular in India. Kia’s MPV will come with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel and a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, along with the option of a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. The company is expected to launch Kia KY in the range of Rs 14 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
2. Hyundai Stargazer
Leading auto company Hyundai is also gearing up to launch its new MPV in the Indian market due to the demand for 7-seater cars among Indian consumers. Hyundai’s new MPV will be based on the same architecture of Kia KY. Although there is no confirmation from the company about his name, Stargazer is being named in media reports. Although the new MPV appeared in the international market during testing, the company has not yet given any official information about the launch. It will have a 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engine like the Creta and is expected to launch early next year.
3. Jeep Meridian Upcoming 7 Seater Cars
American auto company Jeep is also preparing to launch its 7-seater SUV in the Indian market. For a long time now, there has been talk in India that Jeep’s SUV will be able to compete with the powerful Toyota Fortuner, MG Glotser and Kia Carnival. Now, according to the latest reports, the company will launch the SUV in India after Brazil. The Jeep Commander SUV has recently been launched in Brazil in two variants, Limited and Overland. In Brazil, the company has launched the SUV in the price range of 199,990 to 279,990 (approximately Rs 28.23 lakh to Rs 39.53 lakh).
But in India, this SUV will be launched under the name Jeep Meridian. But the exact date has not been announced by the company yet. The upcoming Jeep Meridian in India is expected to have a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder multijet diesel engine. The engine is capable of generating power up to 200bhp, with the option of both manual and automatic transmission. Jeep Meridian will compete with powerful SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavor, MG Gloucester.
4. Mahindra Scorpio Next Gen
Mahindra & Mahindra’s Mahindra Scorpio, one of the most popular SUVs in India, will be launched in a new form. This powerful SUV has often been spotted during testing and the new Scorpio will have many of the latest features, as well as being automatic. Like Mahindra’s upcoming XUV 700, the new Scorpio is expected to be launched in two-seater variants, 5 and 7. The upcoming Scorpio 7-seater variant will have a third row (seat) option, so those sitting in the back will not have much trouble. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will have a 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0 liter mStallion turbo petrol engine.
It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission with a 6-speed manual. The current Scorpio is priced between Rs 12.77 lakh and Rs 17.61 lakh, while the New Mahindra Scorpio will be priced slightly higher.
