But now, there is a possibility that the Ambassador might make a comeback in the Indian market. According to some reports, the French automaker PSA Group, which owns brands like Peugeot, Citroen and Opel, has acquired the rights to use the Ambassador brand name from Hindustan Motors for Rs. 80 crore (US$10 million) in 2017.

The PSA Group is planning to launch its first car in India by 2024 under the Citroen brand. The company has also set up a manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu with an annual capacity of 1 lakh units.

While there is no official confirmation from the PSA Group about the revival of the Ambassador, some sources suggest that the company might use the iconic name for one of its upcoming models in India. The new Ambassador could be based on the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV, which is expected to be launched in India by 2024.

If this is true, then the Upcoming Ambassador would be a completely different car from its predecessor. The Citroen C5 Aircross is a modern and premium SUV that offers a spacious and comfortable cabin, a host of features and a powerful engine. The SUV is also known for its distinctive design and quirky styling elements.

Alternatively, the car could also offer a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 181 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol engine could be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Expected Mileage:

The new Ambassador could offer a fuel efficiency of around 15 kmpl for the diesel engine and around 12 kmpl for the petrol engine. These figures are based on the European cycle and could vary depending on the driving conditions and traffic in India.

Expected Performance:

The new Ambassador could offer a smooth and refined performance with good acceleration and handling. The car could also feature different driving modes such as Eco, Normal and Sport to suit different driving preferences. The car could also come with an advanced suspension system that adapts to different road surfaces and provides a comfortable ride quality.

Expected Top Speed:
