Honda, a renowned Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, offers a wide range of goods for diverse markets. Since 2001, millions of Honda Activa scooters have been sold nationwide. To meet consumer demands and market changes, the Activa is upgraded with new features, design, and technology. The Activa is yet to enter the electric vehicle (EV) segment, which is increasing rapidly in India due to environmental concerns, government laws, fuel pricing, and customer awareness. Honda plans to deploy its first electric scooter in India by March 2024, possibly based on the Activa platform. Here are some of the details and expectations from the upcoming Honda Activa EV With the help of photos.
Upcoming Honda Activa EV Design and Features – Photos
The Honda Activa EV is expected to retain the familiar design and styling of the Activa family, with some minor changes to suit the electric powertrain. The scooter may feature a new LED headlamp, tail lamp, and turn indicators, along with a digital instrument cluster that displays information such as speed, battery level, range, mode, etc. The scooter may also have a smart key system, a USB charging port, a glove box, and an under-seat storage space.
Battery and Performance
The Honda Activa EV is likely to use a fixed battery pack that can be charged at home or at public charging stations. The battery capacity and range are not yet revealed, but we can expect them to be competitive with other electric scooters in the market. The scooter may also have a swappable battery option, as Honda has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to set up battery swapping stations at its petrol pumps across the country.
The scooter may offer different riding modes such as Eco, Sport, and City, depending on the performance and efficiency required by the rider. The top speed of the scooter is expected to be around 50 kmph, which is adequate for city commuting.

Price and Competition
The Honda Activa EV is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), which is higher than the current petrol-powered Activa models but lower than some of the premium electric scooters in the market. The scooter will compete with other electric scooters such as TVS iQube Electric, Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, etc., which offer similar or better features, performance, and range.
The Honda Activa EV is a much-awaited product from the Japanese brand, as it will mark its entry into the electric vehicle segment in India. The scooter will leverage the popularity and trust of the Activa brand, along with offering a clean, green, and economical alternative to the conventional petrol scooters. The scooter will also benefit from Honda’s extensive dealer network and service support across the country. The Honda Activa EV is expected to be launched in India by March 2024, and we hope that it will live up to the expectations of the customers and the market.
