Tata Motors has launched the Tigor CNG, a bi-fuel variant of its compact sedan With Twin Cylinder Technology, in Aug 2023.
The Tigor CNG is available in two trims: XZ and XZ+ (with dual tone option). The XZ CNG is priced at Rs. 8.20 lakh and the XZ+ CNG is priced at Rs. 8.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tigor CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that delivers 72 bhp of power and 95 Nm of torque when running on CNG. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The Tigor CNG offers a mileage of 26.4 km/kg on CNG mode, which is significantly higher than the petrol variant's 20.3 kmpl. The car has a CNG tank capacity of 60 litres and a petrol tank capacity of 35 litres.
The Tigor CNG comes with an advance iCNG technology that ensures high performance, lower maintenance costs, and seamless driving experience. The car also has a smart switch that allows the driver to switch between CNG and petrol modes easily.
The Tigor CNG has the same features as the petrol variant, such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Harman sound system, a digital instrument cluster, a push-button start/stop, and a rear parking camera.
The Tigor CNG has a boot space of 316 litres, which is slightly less than the petrol variant's 419 litres due to the CNG tank. However, the car still offers ample space for luggage and passengers.
The Tigor CNG is available in four colours: Arizona Blue, Daytona Grey, Magnetic Red, and Opal White. The dual tone option for the XZ+ trim adds a contrast black roof to the car.
The Tigor CNG is one of the most affordable and fuel-efficient compact sedans in the Indian market. It competes with other CNG cars such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze.
