MG Astor 2021 Unveils In India
MG Motor India unveiled the first glimpse of its new mid-size SUV MG Astor today (Dec. 15). The company has removed the screen from the new MG Astor and the SUV will launch next month. The company has not announced the price yet, the price of this SUV will be revealed by the company at the time of launch. The MG Aster will be on display at the MG Showroom from September 19 and bookings will begin shortly thereafter.
Autonomous Level 2 Driver Assistance systems
Equipped with Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Level 2 Driver Assistance systems, the SUV will go on sale in September. The company claims that this is the first ‘Personal AI Assistant SUV’ in India. The company says that the new MG Astor includes a number of advanced features that will be seen for the first time in the segment.
MG Astor 2021 Engine
This SUV will come in two engine options. It has a Brit Dynamic 220 Turbo petrol engine with 6-speed AT, which delivers 220 Nm of torque and 140 PS of power, and another – VTI Tech petrol engine with manual transmission and 8-speed CVT, 144 Nm of torque, and 110 PS of power.
MG Astor 2021 Interior
MG Astor has three driving modes: Normal, Urban, and Dynamic. Other features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, 7-inch instrument cluster, electric sunroof, electric parking brake, PM2.5 filter, rain-sensing wiper, heated ORVM, rear AC vents, front and rear armrests. . Another special feature of this new SUV is that it has been contracted with the country’s leading telecom company Geo for this SUV. That is, Reliance Jio will provide its system for Artificial Intelligence (AI) system. This SUV will feature Geo’s IoT Solutions system. Features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Hill Descent Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Speed Assist.
MG Astor Competitors
The SUV will be below the Celtos in MG’s lineup in India. The market will see the new MG Astor compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun. This SUV has a length of 4323 mm, a width of 1809 mm, and a height of 1650 mm.
